A new billboard is popping up in Times Square to troll Biden’s Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg for believing that people who are struggling at the gas pump should buy expensive electric vehicles instead.
The billboard was purchased by the Job Creator’s Network, an small business advocacy organization launched by Bernie Marcus, the co-founder and former CEO of Home Depot.
The billboard reads, “PAIN AT THE PUMP? ELITE PETE SAYS, ‘LET THEM DRIVE ELECTRIC CARS'”

It features Buttigieg’s image with a crown and scepter.
During a hearing on Tuesday, Buttigieg, once again, said that people who can’t afford Biden’s sky-high gas prices should just buy an electric vehicle.
“The more pain we are all experiencing from the high price of gas, the more benefit there is for those who can access electric vehicles,” Buttigieg said.
This isn’t the first time he has made this type of comment.
During an appearance on CNBC’s Squawk Box to discuss gas prices earlier this month, Buttigieg said, “I’m still astonished that some folks seem to really struggle to let go” of their gas-powered vehicles in favor of electric vehicles.
Just days before that appearance, Buttigieg made similar remarks during an appearance on REAL 92.3’s show Big Boy TV.

“We’re for cutting the cost of electric vehicles because when you have an electric vehicle, then you’re also going to be able to save on gas, but you got to be able to afford it in the first place,” Buttigieg said. Right now, we’re actually starting to see on some models the costs come to where even if your car payment’s a little higher, your gas payment will be a little lower, and you come out ahead, but the prices still need to come down for most Americans to be able to get an EV.”
Buttigieg also recently laughed and joked about the gas prices during an appearance on Fox News.
Neil Cavuto: “Half of that increase [in gas prices] started prior to the first Russian soldiers arriving near Ukraine. You can’t blame it all on Ukraine, right?”
Buttigieg: “What about the other half?” pic.twitter.com/Hz51aElxhi

In March, Buttigieg was roasted for saying that “people from rural, to suburban, to urban communities can all benefit from the gas savings of driving an EV.”
Instead of addressing the skyrocketing gas prices, Buttigieg just wants you to buy a new car.
