DEVELOPING: Several Homeless People Shot Dead in Mass Shooting in British Columbia, Canada – Suspect Arrested

Several homeless people were shot dead Monday morning in a mass shooting in British Columbia, Canada.

The mass shooting was reportedly a ‘targeted’ attack, according to local media.

‘Multiple shooting scenes in the downtown core in the city of Langley with 1 incident in Langley township involving transient victims,’ an alert sent to B.C. residents’ phones read, according to Reuters.

A Royal Canadian Police spokesperson did not disclose how many people were killed.

Reuters reported:

Several people were killed in a mass shooting early on Monday in the Canadian province of British Columbia, local media reported.

Police had earlier issued an emergency alert for multiple shootings in the city of Langley and asked residents to stay alert and away from the area of the incident.

Update: The suspect, described as a white male with dark hair, has been arrested.

The Daily Mail reported on an update to the shooting:

Several people were killed in a mass shooting early on Monday and a suspect is in custody in the Canadian province of British Columbia, according to police.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Langley confirmed that officers responded to shooting scenes in multiple locations around the city of Langley and nearby Langley Township beginning just after 6 a.m.

They described the gunman as a white male with dark hair wearing Carhart coveralls and a blue and green camouflage T-shirt with a red logo on the sleeve. He was believed to be traveling in a white car.

Police said he acted alone.

‘In the early morning hours of July 25, 2022, the Langley RCMP responded to multiple report shots fired with several victims and several different scenes throughout the City of Langley and one scene in the Township of Langley. Out of an abundance of caution, an Emergency Alert was issued until investigators can confirm that the suspect was acting alone,’ according to a Langley police.
