In a tragic turn of events on Sunday, a 27-year-old triathlete and resident doctor at McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, collapsed while swimming. On Thursday, four days after the incident, she passed away.

Dr. Candace Nayman’s death comes less than two weeks after the deaths of four other physicians. Dr. Candace was the fifth Greater Toronto Area (GTA) doctor to die in July.

The Gateway Pundit was the first to report that Dr. Paul Hannam, the Chief of Emergency Medicine and Program Medical Director at North York General Hospital (NYGH), died unexpectedly while out for a run.

NYGH claimed  that the tragic death of Dr. Paul Hannam was “not related to COVID-19 or vaccinations of any kind”, according to Toronto Sun.

Chief Medical Strategy Officer at Mount Sinai Hospital, Howard Ovens, announced the passing of Dr. Hannam via Twitter.

“Canadian Emergency Medicine is in mourning tonight,” Ovens wrote. “Paul Hannam, Olympic sailor, marathon runner, family man, ED director ⁦at NYGH, a sweet, thoughtful, compassionate and gentle man died suddenly today on a run. The quintessential mensch. Hug someone you love.”

On Thursday, The Gateway Pundit reported the deaths of three physicians at Canada’s Trillium Health Partners-Mississauga Hospital who died unexpectedly in the same week.

The three physicians who died the same week after Dr. Hannam were Dr. Lorne Segall (July 17), Dr. Stephen McKenzie (July 18), and Dr. Jakub Sawicki (July 21). According to the nurse who leaked the memo, the three doctors reportedly died after the hospital started mandating the fourth Covid shot for their employees.

Trillium Health Partners finally released a statement and confirmed the deaths of the three physicians.

“It is with deep sadness that THP mourns the loss of three of our physicians who recently passed away,” the hospital announced on Twitter.

“Dr. Jakub Sawicki, Dr. Stephen McKenzie, and Dr. Lorne Segall were respected physicians who dedicated their lives to caring for their patients and community,” the post added.

The hospital claimed that the social media rumor that their deaths were related to the COVID-19 vaccination is “simply not true.”

On Friday, Hamilton hospital released Dr. Candace Nayman’s obituary. Read below:

Dr. Candace Nayman was a Year 3 Pediatrics Resident at McMaster Children’s Hospital who tragically passed away on Thursday, July 28th 2022. Candace was a beloved sister and daughter, a friend and confidant, a mentor and guide, an athlete and coach, and an inspiration to many. In her 27 years, she lived an active and full life through her love of world travel, frequent camping and outdoor adventures, passion for music and arts, and a wide network of friends, colleagues, and study partners. Candace was at ease among children, working as a summer camp counsellor, swim instructor, and often an on-call babysitter for friends, family, or colleagues in need.

She was dedicated to her craft as a Pediatrician, mentoring some of her best friends in medical school and undergrad in choosing the specialty, and taking on a wide range of electives in her time in residency. In May 2022, Candace ran 135 km and individually raised $2,000 as a part of McMaster Children’s Hospital’s Million Reasons Run over the month-long fundraiser. She spent time as a Board Member of the Professional Association of Residents of Ontario and as an active member of the McMaster Pediatrics Residency community. In the summer of 2021, she worked as a physician in Sault Ste Marie and had planned on travelling for an elective rotation in the Northwest Territories in the coming months.

Candace wished to breathe life and spirit into everything she did and at the time of her passing was able to donate organs to four individuals who will continue her legacy in their own lives.

The Nayman Family thanks you for making this donation to McMaster Children’s Hospital in Candace’s memory. We are honoured by your love for our daughter and your steadfast support throughout this time.
