The one question that all Republican candidates running for US Senate should be asked is – whether they stand with President Trump or Mitch McConnell.
Mitch McConnell has shown his true colors. And he’s not with Trump and his historic MAGA movement.
According to a new book, “This Will Not Pass,” by Jonathan Martin, back on Jan 6 McConnell wasn’t concerned about the well-being of Trump supporters. McConnell wasn’t concerned about the well-being of the Capitol police. McConnell wasn’t concerned about the well-being of President Trump or his family.
McConnell was sure that President Trump was behind the riots. McConnell didn’t question why Pelosi prevented the National Guard from protecting the Capitol that day after President Trump requested that they be sent there days before his speech.
McConnell wasn’t concerned about the four dead Trump supporters. McConnell doesn’t care that the election was stolen.
McConnell was exhilarated that in his mind President Trump “finally, totally discredited himself.”
In a new book McConnell’s actions on Jan 6 were uncovered.
In the hours after supporters of Donald Trump laid siege to the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, House Republican Leader Mitch McConnell reportedly said he was “exhilarated” that the then-president had finally tarnished his reputation.
“I feel exhilarated by the fact that this fellow finally, totally discredited himself,” McConnell told Jonathan Martin, a New York Times reporter who detailed the exchange in a new book, “This Will Not Pass.” Excerpts of the book were obtained and reported on by The Washington Post on Monday.
“He put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger,” the Kentucky Republican reportedly told Martin at the U.S. Capitol in the early hours of Jan. 7. “Couldn’t have happened at a better time.”
He also asked the political correspondent for intelligence on whether the Cabinet and vice president might considering removing Trump from office using provisions of the 25th Amendment, according to the book.
McConnell then reportedly told Martin he had spoken to Democratic leaders, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) and then-Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.), about releasing a joint statement telling Trump not to attend President Joe Biden’s inauguration.
McConnell and the Deep State and corrupt politicians and actors in the government were in on it. McConnell was working with Pelosi and Schumer and not the President of the United States or the people of the United States that gave President Trump the largest number of legitimate votes in US history.
McConnell had no problems with the 2020 Election being stolen. On Jan 6, McConnell had one goal – to end the political career of President Trump and punish Trump if he could.
McConnell and his cronies on both sides of the aisle didn’t like that someone was coming to DC to clean up the swamp. They like it just the way it is.
Anyone who supports McConnell and the corrupt Democrats should be removed from office… period.
