UPDATE— The California Republican Party responded this afternoon.
Please see below for comment and background regarding your story today about the California Republican Party. We would appreciate an update to the story with our comment.
COMMENT:
“This article is flat wrong; the California Republican Party does not endorse Democrats. The video recording did not include the clear and unambiguous comments by the CAGOP Chairwoman stating that simple fact.” – CAGOP Spokesperson Ellie Hockenbury
BACKGROUND:
The recorded conversation is about a county endorsement, not the California Republican Party endorsement.
The CAGOP’s bylaws don’t allow us to endorse Democrats.
You can find a list of the Republicans (and only Republicans) who have been endorsed by the CAGOP. This is the official list of CAGOP endorsements and will be updated with other Republicans added throughout the cycle.Ellie Hockenbury

This is what total surrender looks like.
You would expect this in Communist Venezuela or Erdogan’s Turkey but not in the United States.
California Republican Party appeared to endorse Democrats and a Sheriff Who will kick ICE out of prisons.
The California Republican Party endorsement board meeting on Saturday, January 22, 2022, was caught on video.
The video starts with Katie Wheeler the California GOP Convention Planning official discussing the mask and vaccine mandates that will be required at the April convention. All attendees must provide proof of vaccines.
Senator Scott Wilk, the California Senate Republican Leader then urges the committee to endorse Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva in the upcoming election. Villanueva promised to kick ICE out of the County jails so criminal aliens will not have to worry about deportation.
Jessica Patterson, the Chairwoman of the California Republican Party, then discusses how Republicans can support a moderate Democrat in the upcoming Los Angeles County Board elections. Jessica was just reelected Chairwoman of the California GOP.
Randy Berholtz, the Secretary for the California Republican Party, then asks about the GOP policy for endorsing moderate Democrats in the state.
Again – This is what total surrender looks like.
As long as California allows mail-in voting, ballot drop boxes and ballot harvesting — this will continue.
