Texas House Democrat Who Fled State to Block GOP Voting Laws Absurdly Compares Staying in Chamber to Being a “Hostage” (VIDEO)

Texas House Democrat Senfronia Thompson was one of the dozens of lawmakers who fled her state and now she’s playing the victim and absurdly comparing staying in the chamber and doing the job she was elected to do to being “a hostage.”

At least 58 Democrat members of the state House of Representatives fled Texas and headed to Washington DC to block Republicans from advancing new voting laws through a special session of the legislature.

Now the Democrats, who took private jets to DC, are playing victim and claiming the job they were elected to do is somehow oppressive.

“”I’m up here because I don’t plan to be a sitting person in that legislature,” Thompson said. “I’m not gonna be a hostage!”

The Texas House of Representatives on Tuesday voted to send law enforcement to arrest the Democrat lawmakers for fleeing the state and blocking the GOP from passing voting laws.

“The chamber approved asking law enforcement to arrest democrats who walked around to regain a quorum,” ABC13 reporter Nick Natario said. “Democrats also face other penalties, like losing leadership roles.”
