Americans will be enjoying fireworks around the nation today to celebrate the 4th of July. Everywhere there will be fireworks. Some will be large shows while others may be smaller events in backyards. Unfortunately, the people attending the Washington Nationals game will not be enjoying a show.
FOX News reports:
The Washington Nationals squared off against the Los Angeles Dodgers this afternoon. After the game, the Nationals were expected to host “Freedom Fireworks” presented by Budweiser, but the team put out a statement saying that it was canceled due to the city’s noise curfew.
“We apologize for the inconvenience,” the statement concluded.

It could be a long night for Nationals fans as they lost to the Dodgers and have to go elsewhere for fireworks.
Update per a reader: To clarify, the fireworks were for Saturday night between the Dodgers and Nationals, because of a two-hour rain delay and the fact that the game was on Fox television (7:15 pm start), that’s why the game ended around 12:30 am well within the city’s noise curfew. The July 4 game started at 11 AM to accommodate those going elsewhere to see the fireworks in DC later that night near the national mall and elsewhere. Hopefully, the Nationals will reschedule those fireworks for those fans, but mother nature was the reason why the nationals had to move the show to another date.
