Officer Suspended for Viral Video Mocking LeBron James Lands Book Deal After Raising Over $500K on GoFundMe

After an Idaho police officer was suspended from his job over a hilarious viral video mocking LeBron James, a fundraiser for him raised over $500,000. Now, he has landed a book deal.

Bellevue police officer Nate Silvester was suspended for a week over his viral TikTok video responding to the basketball player’s threat against the cop who was involved in the fatal shooting of an armed teenager who was in the process of trying to stab another girl.

In response to the suspension, his best friend Gannon Ward launched a fundraiser with the aim of raising a few thousands dollars to support his friend and make sure that he did not lose out on any pay.

The fundraiser has now brought in over a half a million dollars as people rallied around Silvester and the cause. The officer says that he will be donating a portion of the proceeds to The First Responders Children’s Foundation, a charity for the families of fallen officers and first responders.

“I never expected my tiktok to go viral the way it did. However, when it started gaining traction I anticipated that some would come out in opposition and there would be some blow back,” Silvester said, when asked by Gateway if he imagined he would get in trouble over the joke.

Now, Silvester has landed a book deal with Diangelo Publications.

The book, titled Never Off Duty, will give a revealing look at Silvester’s life as a cop in 2021, the societal pressures of the job, the concept of being “never off duty,” and standing up to speak on behalf of tens of thousands of silenced police offers and their frightened families.

“This book is going to change the anti-police narrative in this country and help people see the men and women peace officers in our country for the heroes they are,” Silvester told the Gateway Pundit. “Those who will have read the book will better understand the social pressures officers experience on and off duty and how that affects their lives outside of police work.”

Never Off Duty is available for pre-order here.
