The standard for liberals on police shootings has now moved from criticizing the deaths of unarmed violent resisters of arrest to now criticizing police for shooting armed attackers right as they are about to kill someone.

Democrat U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio spoke out on Wednesday about the deadly shooting yesterday of Black teen girl (15 or 16) Ma’Khia Bryant by a heroic Columbus police office as she raised a knife to stab another Black teen girl. Brown said Bryant “should be alive right now”: “While the verdict was being read in the Derek Chauvin trial, Columbus police shot and killed a sixteen-year-old girl. Her name was Ma’Khia Bryant. Joyce Beatty, who represents Columbus in Congress, commented after the police video was released showing Bryant being shot as she tried to stab a girl, criticizing police for the “tragic killing” of Bryant: “I am at a total loss of words over the tragic killing of 16-year-old Ma’khia Bryant by the Columbus Police. My prayers are with her family and friends. Our community is hurting, has experienced too much heartbreak, and deserves better.”

The NAACP in Columbus watched the bodycam video and still attacked the police in a statement released late Tuesday night: “Another Black child was killed by the police. Our condolences to the family and loved ones of Ma’Khia Bryant.”
“The NAACP Columbus Branch has viewed the body camera footage released to the public and we have several unanswered questions. What threat did this 16-year old girl pose to the police officer? What steps were taken to deescalate the situation? Why wasn’t a taser or pepper spray used? Finally, how does a call for help result in the death of a 16-year old child? We demand answers and accountability for the death of Ma’khia Bryant.”

Neither the NAACP, nor the Democrats or Blue Check liberals (with the exception of Cooper) have expressed any concerns for the victims attacked by Ma’khia Bryant. One young female was seen also being viciously kicked in the head by a grown man while on the ground after she fell trying to avoid being stabbed by Bryant. BTW, did the police arrest that man?
