MLB’s Net Favorability With Republicans Tanks To 12% After Bonehead Move

Republicans are done with the MLB.

According to a new poll from Morning Consult, Major League Baseball’s favorability rating with Republicans has tanked since they moved the All-Star Game out of Atlanta.

In March, the MLB had a net favorability rating of 47% among Republican voters. In less than a month that sunk to just 12%.

The MLB is now less popular among Republican voters than even the NFL.

From Morning Consult:

New data from Morning Consult Brand Intelligence, which tracks consumer attitudes, indicates that MLB’s net favorability rating among Republicans plummeted from 47 percentage points in mid-March to just 12 points at the end of last week, following the league’s decision to relocate its events. Net favorability is calculated by taking the difference between the share of respondents with a positive opinion of the league and the share with a negative opinion.

MLB had the highest net favorability rating among Republicans of the four major sports leagues prior to the All-Star Game decision, but last week dropped below that of both the NHL and NFL.

MLB entered the political arena after their decision to relocate the MLB all-star game from Atlanta over Georgia’s passing of an election integrity bill aimed at stopping voter fraud.

This move was clearly to punish Georgia and side with the far-left.

The founder of Outkick, Clay Travis, called MLB’s decision “catastrophic.”

He said MLB commissioner Rob Manfred “lit the league brand on fire.”

He also pointed out they gained no support from Democrats for their far-left stance.

It isn’t only Republican voters who are taking on the MLB.

GOP Lawmakers are now looking into removing MLB’s anti-trust exemption.
