Former British spy Christopher Steele
Bombshell documents released by Senator Lindsey Graham on Thursday and obtained by CBS’s Catherine Herridge revealed Christopher Steele’s main dossier source, Igor Danchenko, was the subject of a 2009-2011 (while Mueller was Director) FBI counter-intelligence investigation under suspicion of being a Russian spy and was deemed a “threat to national security.”
This was known to the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane team as early as December 2016, yet they hid this information from the FISA court when they requested FISA renewals on Trump campaign advisor Carter Page.
The FBI obtained its first FISA warrant on Carter Page in October of 2016 and three subsequent renewals every 90 days until June of 2017.
“Between May 2009 and March 2011, the FBI maintained an investigation into the individual who later would be identified as Christopher Steele’s Primary Sub-source,” the two page FBI memo states. “The FBI commenced this investigation based on information by the FBI indicating that the Primary Sub-source may be a threat to national security.”
In other words, a suspected Russian spy who was a national security threat, was used by the FBI in order to accuse Carter Page, an American citizen, of being a traitor and an agent of Russia — and to obtain a spy warrant on him.
Even worse, the information provided by Russian spy Igor Danchenko was used to accuse President Trump of being a suspected agent of Russia.
Candidate Donald Trump AND President Trump was spied on by the FBI by information provided to the FBI by a dangerous Russian spy!
The final Carter Page FISA warrant was signed by Rod Rosenstein and Andrew McCabe in June of 2017 AFTER Mueller was appointed special counsel.
Did Robert Mueller actually use information gathered in real time by the illegal wiretaps on Carter Page?
Wasn’t Mueller paid millions of dollars to find sources of Russian disinformation?
#Durham BREAKING: The primary sub-source for the Steele dossier was deemed a possible “national security threat” + the subject of 2009 FBI counter-intel probe. According to new records, those facts were known to Crossfire Hurricane team in December 2016. @LindseyGrahamSC pic.twitter.com/I6Gp4fv98C

Wall Street Journal senior editor Kimberly Strassel did a deep dive on the newly released documents:
Early in Obama admin, Igor Danchenko “reportedly attempted to recruit two individuals connected to an influential foreign policy advisor” to Obama.
2) Early in Obama admin, subsource “reportedly attempted to recruit two individuals connected to an influential foreign policy advisor” to Obama. Said if they got jobs in the administration and access to classified information, he could help them “make a little extra money.”

Recall, investigative reporter Paul Sperry revealed Igor Danchenko was at Brookings, a Democrat think tank.
3) FBI says he had previously contact with the Russian Embassy and Russian intelligence officers. Thanks to @paulsperry_ we know the name of this subsource, and that he for a period at this time at Brookings, Democratic think tank.

The FBI never told the FISA court that Steele’s main source was a subject of a previous FBI CI investigation and suspected Russian spy!
6) Most importantly: It never told the FISA court about this CI investigation. It withheld that information and continued re-upping its applications to surveil Page and the campaign. It vouched for information supplied by a suspected Russian agent.
