Second Person Who Was With Trump at Mar-a-Lago Tests Positive for Coronavirus

A second person who was around President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago over the weekend has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The guest who tested positive attended a luncheon with the president on Sunday, but their name has not been made public at this time. A press aide to Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro who was also at Mar-a-Lago over the weekend was the first to test positive.

The Washington Post reports that a message was sent to donors that attended the fundraising event warning them to seek medical attention if they feel sick.

“As you may have had contact with this individual, please contact your medical provider if you or any of your loved ones is ill,” the message reportedly said.

President Trump said on Friday that he will be getting tested for the virus, though he has stressed that he does not have any symptoms consistent with the virus.

On Friday, the president also declared a national emergency and announced a new public-private partnership to expand coronavirus testing capabilities.

The White House has stressed that President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence “had almost no interactions with the individual who tested positive and do not require being tested at this time,” speaking of the Brazilian official. It is currently unclear how much interaction Trump had with the latest guest to test positive.
