Schumer and Pelosi Try to Add Fuel Emission Standards For Airlines, More Wind and Solar Tax Credits to Coronavirus Stimulus Package

Senate Democrats on Sunday blocked phase 3 of the Coronavirus economic stimulus bill.

60 votes were needed for this bill.

All Democrats, and Independents who caucus with Dems voted no.

Pelosi and Schumer continued to play politics on Monday amid the Coronavirus shutdown and demanded a wish list of Socialist policies that have nothing to do with the global pandemic.

Pelosi and Schumer are now pushing these demands:

1) Unprecedented collective bargaining powers for unions

2) Increased fuel emissions standards for airlines

3) Expansion of wind and solar tax credits

Even worse, not only are these demands totally unrelated to the Coronavirus pandemic, they could prevent companies from participating in the loan programs — directly causing unnecessary layoffs, according to a senior GOP aide.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell crushed Senate Democrats before the Monday morning Coronavirus Relief Package vote.

McConnell slammed Democrats for pushing to include their Green New Deal regulations inside the relief bill. Democrats held up the legislation for tax credits for solar energy and wind energy and new emission standards for the US airlines. Pure insanity!

“I’d like to see Senate Democrats tell New York City doctors and nurses who are literally overrun as we speak that they are filibustering hospital funding and more masks because they want to argue with the airlines over their carbon footprint” McConnell said from the Senate floor. ”

They We were this close, this close. Then yesterday morning the Speaker of the House flew back from San Francisco and suddenly the Senate’s serious bipartisan process turned into this left-wing episode of supermarket sweep! Unrelated issues left and right. I’ll tell you what will lower our carbon footprint is if the entire economy continues to crumble,” he added.
