President Trump to Hold Coronavirus Press Conference at 3 P.M. EDT

President Trump announced he will hold a press conference on the Wuhan coronavirus at 3 p.m. Friday. Concerns about the virus have prompted massive closures across the country and a stock market rout, even though Trump has been ahead of the curve on preparing for the virus in most regards. Trump and his administration’s handling of the virus have been criticized for initial failures in testing for the virus and for mixed messaging.

The media is blasting reports Friday morning of U.S. coronavirus death estimates of over one million this year even as the U.S. infection and death rate remains quite low after the Trump administration has taken numerous acts to mitigate the impact of the virus.

“I will be having a news conference today at 3:00 P.M., The White House. Topic: CoronaVirus!”

President Trump’s own health is in question as he had close contact last weekend at Mar-a-Lago with Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro and his press secretary Fabio Wajngarten, both of whom have since tested positive for the coronavirus. UPDATE: Bolsonaro tested negative for the virus on his second test

Bolsonaro press secretary Fabio Wajngarten, in the photo above with Trump and Vice President Pence, posted video from the weekend visit showing he was again in close in proximity to Trump.
