Fox News host Tucker Carlson refused to say Mitt Romney’s name on air, explaining that he did not want to reward him with the publicity that his vote for President Donald Trump to be impeached was meant to garner.
Romney, of course, has been showered with praise by the liberal media for standing with the Democrats during their failed attempt to impeach the president.
“A lone Republican, as you may have read, defected and joined the Democrats,” Carlson said on Wednesday. “That senator shall go unnamed on this show on the grounds that silly moral preening should not be rewarded with the publicity it is designed to garner.”
On the side of the screen was a photo of Romney with a baguette along with the caption “Pierre Delecto strikes again.”
Delecto was the name on Romney’s secret Twitter account.
Romney was the only republican who voted to impeach the president on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress by mentioning Joe Biden’s corruption during a phone call with Ukranian leaders.
“An overwrought ethics lecture from a private equity guy?” Carlson mocked. “Next thing you know some payday loan sleazeball will be telling us ‘we’re all going to hell!’ It’s just too absurd each for the ludicrous moment we are living in. We’ll take that seriously just as soon as we decide Al Sharpton is a legitimate moral voice. So enough of that.”
