Turkey Agrees to 5-Day Ceasefire in Northern Syria After Trump Fires Off Warning Letter to Erdogan

Turkey agreed to a 5-day ceasefire in Northern Syria to allow the Kurds retreat to a ‘safe zone.’

‘The United States and Turkey have agreed to a cease-fire in Syria,’ VP Mike Pence announced.

The deal to suspend Ankara’s military operations in Northern Syria comes after President Trump fired off a warning letter to Erdogan.

President Trump sent off a letter to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on October 9th warning the Turkish leader on his actions in Syria

“Don’t let the world down…don’t be a tough guy. Don’t be a fool,” Trump wrote in a letter to Erdogan.

President Trump praised the “amazing” ceasefire on Thursday and thanked Turkey’s president Erdogan.

“They couldn’t get it without a little rough love, as I call it,” Trump said referring to the letter he sent Erdogan on Wednesday.
