President Trump on Thursday sued crooked Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance, who recently subpoenaed 8 years of Trump’s personal and corporate tax returns.
Cy Vance’s office issued the subpoena last month to Trump’s accounting firm Mazars USA.
Last month the DA opened a criminal investigation into Trump’s role in the ‘hush payments’ made to porn star Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal.
A shell company formed by Trump’s former lawyer-turned-snake Michael Cohen made payments to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal during the 2016 election to allegedly buy their silence about affairs they had with Donald Trump more than a decade ago.
It is unclear if the District Attorney has already received Trump’s tax returns.
Even if the Manhattan DA obtained Trump’s tax returns, they may not be released to the public because they could be covered in secrecy rules that protect grand jury material — unless the documents are used as evidence in a criminal case.
The Democrats have been fiercely working to get Trump’s tax returns for years without any success — and Trump’s refusal to disclose his tax returns has caused the Dems to go into overdrive.
The Constitution does not require that a presidential candidate or a sitting US president release their tax returns, however the Democrats have been gunning for the tax docs to continue their witch hunt against Trump.
