Rand Paul Offers To Buy Ilhan Omar Ticket To Somalia So She ‘Might Come Back And Appreciate America More’
Republican Sen. Rand Paul offered to buy Rep. Ilhan Omar a ticket so she could visit her native Somalia so “she might come back and appreciate America more.”
“I’m not saying we forcibly send her anywhere, I’m willing to contribute to buy her a ticket to go visit Somalia,” the Kentucky senator told Breitbart News. “And I think she can look and maybe learn a little bit about the disaster that is Somalia — that has no capitalism, has no God-given rights guaranteed in a constitution, and has about seven different tribes that have been fighting each other for the last 40 years.”
“And then maybe after she’s visited Somalia for a while, she might come back and appreciate America more,” Paul said.
Paul’s remarks follow President Trump’s, who said earlier this month that four lawmakers — Omar of Minnesota, along with Reps. Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts — should “go back” to where they their home countries. But three of the four were born in the U.S, and Omar came to the U.S. as a girl and later became a U.S. citizen.
Paul’s comments came before Omar retweeted vile sentiments from actor Tom Arnold on Monday, justifying the violent attack on Paul by his neighbor — which left him with broken ribs and fluid in his lungs.
Arnold had tweeted, “imagine being Rand Paul’s next door neighbor and having to deal with Rand Paul lying cowardly circular whiney bullcrap about lawn clippings. No wonder he ripped his toupee off.”
“It was nice of her to provide even more evidence that she is a person with vile, anti-American beliefs and values, who apparently also supports violence for political disagreements,” Paul’s Chief Strategist Doug Stafford told the Gateway Pundit, in response to Omar’s vicious retweet.
Paul’s neighbor was forced to pay $580,000 in damages after breaking six of the senator’s ribs during the violent attack.
