A reminder: Never get in a battle of the wits with a brilliant comedian.
Norm MacDonald absolutely shredded singer Bette Midler over a string of posts she made on Twitter.
It all started on Wednesday, when Midler — a longtime Trump hater — wrote this on Twitter: “Look, there are African American men in this shot! How much did he pay them to be ‘blackground’?”

MacDonald, who usually tweets about golf or gambling, decided to jump into the fray.
“Oh, Christ. Bette’s a racist, too. Fucxk,” he wrote.

MacDonald must’ve read through some older tweets from Midler, because he responded to another one she posted on Monday.
“#LeeAnnTweeden #AlFranken accuser, in all her right wing glory. Al was forced to resign, without anything resembling due process, amid HER allegations that something ‘untoward’ happened between them. Read about it in @thenewyorker,” Midler wrote, posting a picture of Tweeden, a former model who is now a radio broadcaster, in lingerie.

MacDonald eviscerated Midler. “Bette, if you haven’t heard, #metoo has nothing to do with due process. But you putting a picture of this women in lingerie, implying she had it coming, is truly disgusting and what rape apologists have been saying forever. Shame,” he posted.

MacDonald weighed in on another tweet she posted Wednesday. “ ‘It is a worse evil to prefer survival to dishonor, And for the sake of staying alive, lose the reason for living’ ” Midler wrote.
Said the comedian: “Bette, for Christ’d sake, give your head a shake. By your ugly reasoning, the holocaust victims were ‘evil’. Jesus Christ. Think.”

“Give your head a shake.” So perfect!
