JUST IN: DOJ Warns Mueller to Stay on Script During Hearing – Limit His Testimony to His Report

Robert Mueller

The Justice Department on Monday warned Mueller to stay on script during Wednesday’s hearing and limit his testimony to his report.

Robert Mueller is scheduled to testify to the House Intelligence and House Judiciary Committees for a total of 5 hours this Wednesday.

Justice Department officials warned Mueller to stick to testifying about what has already been publicly released in his report because anything else falls under ‘presidential privilege’ and hasn’t been waived, according to Politico.

In extensive discussions since the former special counsel was subpoenaed on June 25 to testify, department officials have emphasized that they consider any evidence he gathered throughout the course of his investigation to be “presumptively privileged” and shielded from public disclosure.

The Justice Department is “taking the position that anything outside the written pages of the report are things about which presidential privilege hasn’t been waived,” the former U.S. official said.

The White House and the Justice Department, however, have signaled they don’t intend to place lawyers in the room during Mueller’s highly anticipated testimony before the House Judiciary and Intelligence committees on Wednesday.

According to reports, Robert Mueller will not be flanked by lawyers on Wednesday, so he will most likely have to ‘self police’ to stay on course.

Trump’s personal lawyer Jay Sekulow said on his radio show on Monday that he expects Mueller to stay within bounds. “I think that would be completely unethical to go beyond the report,” Sekulow said of Mueller.

Mueller concluded his 22-month investigation into ‘Trump-Russia’ in March and clearly stated Trump’s campaign did not collude with the Kremlin during the 2016 election.

No collusion, no obstruction.

Mueller did however outline ‘episodes of obstruction’ which the Democrat-media complex believes will take down Trump and lead to impeachment.

Shortly after Mueller released his 448-page ‘Trump report’ full of lies, omissions and propaganda, he held a bizarre 9-minute presser where he smeared Trump, an innocent man who was never convicted of a crime.

The Democrats are hoping to once again get their outrage headlines and soundbites during Wednesday’s hearing.

House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) beat the impeachment drum on Sunday ahead of Mueller’s testimony to Congress.

Nadler said during his appearance on ‘Fox News Sunday’ that the evidence shows Trump is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors.

“The [Mueller] report presents very substantial evidence that the president is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors,” Nadler said.

President Trump blasted Mueller again on Monday and said that he shouldn’t be given “another bite at the apple.”
