New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio went off in a string of tweets on Saturday after the New York City subway system broke down during the hottest weekend of the year.
A computer failure crippled during Friday night’s hot evening commute home.
The Socialist mayor posted a series of tweets following the suspension of service.
This kind of meltdown during a heat wave is UNACCEPTABLE. The MTA owes every single New Yorker an explanation for this. We've known about this dangerous weather for DAYS. There’s no excuse for why they aren't prepared.

That’s when Twitter users slammed the mayor for losing $850 million in taxpayer funds that could have been used on updating the subway system.
The mayor’s wife Chirlane McCray, can’t account for it.
It was kind of a huge problem that the media mostly ignored.
