Sen. Amy Klobuchar Says John McCain Spent Trump’s Inauguration Comparing Him to Brutal Dictators

Democratic presidential candidate Senator Amy Klobuchar told an Iowa crowd that the late Senator John McCain spent President Donald Trump’s inauguration comparing him to brutal dictators.

Klobuchar was sitting next to McCain and Senator Bernie Sanders during the inaugural address.

“I sat on that stage between Bernie and John McCain, and John McCain kept reciting to me names of dictators during that speech because he knew more than any of us what we were facing as a nation,” Klobuchar said. “He understood it. He knew because he knew this man more than any of us did.”

Klobuchar was speaking to a crowd of over 200 people at Jasper’s Winery in Des Moines when she told the story.

McCain spent the end of his life squabbling with Trump, with even his funeral even becoming a Trump bashing fest.

The feud between the two men escalated dramatically when McCain, who had campaigned for reelection on overturning Obamacare, infamously cast the vote to save it.

“I was never a fan of John McCain and I never will be,” Trump said after the Obamacare vote.

The president has also blasted McCain for his role in peddling the Christopher Steele dossier.
