Interesting: Trump Memorandum to Declassify Intel Related to Obama Spying on His Campaign Includes: Defense, Energy and Homeland Security Officials

President Trump released a memorandum Thursday night ordering declassification of the intelligence related to the spying on the Trump Campaign in 2016.

President Trump tweeted:

President Trump: “Today, at the request and recommendation of the Attorney General of the United States, President Donald J. Trump directed the intelligence community to quickly and fully cooperate with the Attorney General’s investigation into surveillance activities during the 2016 Presidential election. The Attorney General has also been delegated full and complete authority to declassify information pertaining to this investigation, in accordance with the long-established standards for handling classified information. Today’s action will help ensure that all Americans learn the truth about the events that occurred, and the actions that were taken, during the last Presidential election and will restore confidence in our public institutions.”

The memorandum was later posted on the White House website.

What is interesting is its historic implications — that the Trump campaign and Transition Team was spied on by the Obama administration.

What also is interesting is who is listed on memorandum:

The memorandum requests assistance from the following departments.

MEMORANDUM FOR THE SECRETARY OF STATE
THE SECRETARY OF THE TREASURY
THE SECRETARY OF DEFENSE
THE ATTORNEY GENERAL
THE SECRETARY OF ENERGY
THE SECRETARY OF HOMELAND SECURITY
THE DIRECTOR OF NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE
THE DIRECTOR OF THE CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY

It is understandable why the DNI, CIA, Secretary of State and Attorney General are listed.

What is not clear at this time is why the Secretary of Defense, Secretary of Energy and Secretary of Homeland Security are listed.

And the FBI Director is not listed but that could be because he reports to the Attorney General.

This is very interesting.
