Houston High Schooler Matthew Boling Breaks National High School 100 Meter Dash Record

Strake Jesuit High School runner Matthew Boling broke the 29-year-old national record in the 100 meter dash on Saturday.

Boling ran a 10.13 at the Texas UIL state track and field championships at the University of Texas in Austin.
Boling just started running the 100 meter dash this year.

Boling has made headlines all year and has cut almost half a second off his time just this season.

Two weeks ago Matthew Boling ran a 9.98 wind-aided 100 meters. He followed that up this weekend with a 10.13 at the state championships.

Boling also has the seventh best long jump in high school history jumping 26 feet 3.5 inches.

UPDATE– Boling followed his 100 up with a 44.7 in the 4 X 400 relay. And he came back from a 30 yard deficit to win!
