Friday Is United Nations Press Freedom Day
Friday is United Nations World Press Freedom Day.
And in 2019 press freedom is under assault around the world.
Google, Facebook, Twitter and Wikipedia continue to censor, shadow-ban, block and eliminate conservative content.
On Thursday Facebook and Instagram banned conservative publishers Paul Joseph Watson, Milo Yiannopolis, Laura Loomer and Infowars supporters.
Press freedom is also under assault in Europe and in Turkey.
On Thursday the Stockholm Center for Freedom published a half-page ad in The New York Times on the press freedom in Turkey.
In Erdogan’s Turkey today 191 journalists are in prison, 167 journalists are exiled and under threat of arrest and 34 foreign journalists are targeted.
Turkey remains 157th out of 180 countries in the world press freedom index.
