Thousands of people marched through Los Angeles Wednesday to commemorate the 104th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
In 301 A.D., Armenia became the first country in the world to adopt Christianity as its official religion after Christianity was introduced to Armenia a couple hundred years earlier in the first century — for this reason, Armenia was eventually targeted by the Ottoman Empire.
The most recent genocide of the Armenians began on April 24th, 1915, and 1.5 million Christian Armenians were slaughtered by the Muslim Ottoman Turks.
Turkey denies the Genocide to this day.
Assyrians and Greeks were also murdered, bringing the the total Genocide to 3.5 million Christians.
April 24th, 1915 is known as ‘Red Sunday.’ Hundreds of male Armenian leaders were arrested, deported and or killed by the Ottoman Turks in what marked the beginning of the Armenian genocide. Over 1.5 million Christian Armenians were brutally murdered and or sent on a death march into the Syrian desert. Hundreds of thousands of Christian Assyrians and Orthodox Greeks were also slaughtered.
The collapse of the Ottoman Empire in 1924 was the end of the last caliphate. The final caliphate is rising as Muslims flood into Western countries also known as a ‘Hijra’. Hijra is jihad by emigration. It is considered a highly meritorious act for Muslims.
Armenians who survived by a miracle from God lost family, land and everything they owned. Many fled as refugees to Aleppo, Syria and Lebanon which were under French mandate at the time (beginning in 1920).
Turkey continues to deny the Armenian Genocide to this day. They claim that Armenians AND Turks died as a part of World War One – LIES.
29 countries recognize the genocide, however; the U.S. still does not. It is time for the United States to officially recognize this Genocide.
On Wednesday, thousands of Armenians and supporters were holding Armenian flags and signs denouncing the Genocide and demanding the US officially recognize it.
The marchers will end up at the Turkish consulate on Wilshire Blvd.
