The Communists Democrats are waging war on the Electoral College as part of their efforts to erode the US Constitution and ultimately leave federal elections in the hands of the elite coasts, California and New York.
New Mexico is the latest state to pass legislation that favors the national popular vote over the Electoral College.
Democrat Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed House Bill 55 Wednesday that allows New Mexico to join the national compact of states that would give its electoral votes in a presidential campaign to the candidate who wins the popular vote.
Bill Rehm, a Republican member of the New Mexico House of Representatives blasted the bill and said during the session, “These radical bills are pushed by out-of-state interests designed to ensure voters in New Mexico have less of a voice,” reported the Santa Fe New Mexican.
New Mexico (5 EC votes) joins 13 other states along with the District of Columbia (3 EC votes) to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.
Last month, the Delaware House of Representatives passed a similar bill and Colorado Governor Jared Polis (D) quietly signed a bill into law that would favor the popular vote over the Electoral College.
Here are the other states that have signed the the National Popular Vote into law:
- Connecticut – 7 electoral votes
- Hawaii – 4 electoral votes
- Illinois – 20 electoral votes
- Maryland – 10 electoral votes
- Massachusetts – 11 electoral votes
- New Jersey – 14 electoral votes
- Washington – 12 electoral votes
- Vermont – 3 electoral votes
- California – 55 electoral votes
- Rhode Island – 4 electoral votes
- New York – 29 electoral votes
- Colorado – 9 electoral votes
The only way for this joint agreement to go into effect would be if enough states pass legislature to total the number of electoral votes to win a presidency – 270 EC votes.
Our Founding Fathers wanted to give a voice to middle America and less densely populated states so they came up with the best system to represent America, the Electoral College.
The Democrats hate middle America — they want (illegal aliens) California and the Cosmopolitan liberal elitists in New York to choose every US president going forward.
