Lanny Davis unleashed a desperate tweetstorm on Friday morning in a last ditch effort to postpone or reduce his client, Michael Cohen’s prison sentence following the release of Mueller’s report.
Mueller’s report absolutely crushed Lanny Davis’ and Michael Cohen’s lies on the Trump Tower meeting — Cohen claimed in a 2017 Senate Intel testimony that Donald Trump had foreknowledge of the meeting at Trump Tower between his son, Kushner and Veselnitskaya.
In July of 2018, CNN rolled out another “bombshell” story using anonymous sources wherein they reported Michael Cohen claimed Trump knew about the Trump Tower meeting with Veselnitskaya in advance.
The CNN story quickly turned into a dumpster fire because Michael Cohen’s lawyer Lanny Davis admitted he lied to the media when he claimed he confirmed a CNN report with anonymous sources about President Trump’s foreknowledge of the infamous Trump Tower meeting in June of 2016.
Lanny Davis continued to lie and attack President Trump Friday morning.
Clinton-fixer Lanny Davis once again dangled the carrot and claimed Michael Cohen has thousands of documents proving Trump has committed crimes while in the White House.
Lanny even compared Michael Cohen to John Dean, Nixon’s White House Counsel during the Watergate scandal — Mr. Dean ended up pleading guilty to a single felony count in a deal in exchange for becoming a key witness, ultimately reducing his prison sentence.
Lanny Davis started off his tweetstorm by claiming that Michael Cohen lied to Congress to “protect Trump” in “accordance with his directives.”
1) Fact: the only lie by .@MichaelCohen212 was to congress to protect Trump in “accordance with his directives” – that all Moscow Tower contacts ended before Feb 1 Iowa caucuses. Trump knew this was lie. Fact: the only person going to jail in Trump Org is @MichaelCohen212. Why?

Michael Cohen could be John Dean II, Davis said, begging for his client’s prison sentence to be reduced.
2) Cohen mentioned 62 times in Mueller report – spent 70 hours-7 days with Mueller team, testimony called credible” on “core” issues. Cooperated with congress. Knows more than anyone about Trump crimes. He could be John Dean II. Yet is only Trump Org person going to prison. Why?

Lanny Davis continued the lie that Cohen lied at the instruction and benefit of Donald Trump.
3) ALL crimes Cohen pled guilty to were at instruction and for benefit of Trump. Exception-didn’t pay less than $1.4 million in taxes over five years – about $280K/year. Floyd Mayweather didn’t pay $15.5m. Civil penalties. Willie Nelson $17m. Civil. Cohen criminal. Why? #unjust

Lanny then dangled the carrot again and claimed Michael Cohen could provide Congress with thousands of documents showing that Trump committed crimes while he was president, such as lies about Trump Tower Moscow — this has already been proven to be a lie and a Trump Tower in Moscow was never even built.
4) @MichaelCohen212 could provide congress with thousands of documents that @realDonaldTrump has committed crimes as president – lies about Trump Tower Moscow, obstruction, hush money payoffs to porn star, obstruction, etc. Why not use him to help as John Dean was used in 1974?

Davis brought up the old hush money payments made by Trump — this is not a crime, yet Cohen pleaded guilty to it — that’s his own fault.
5) Fact: @realDonaldTrump WHILE PRESIDENT wrote $35,000 checks to @MichaelCohen212 – federal prosecutors found were CRIMINAL hush money payments. D Jr. signed checks too. Neither AG Barr nor any Rs mention these crimes. Yet only @MichaelCohen212 in Trump Org goes to jail. Why?

A couple weeks ago, Michael Cohen offered Democrats ‘more dirt’ in an attempt to stay out of prison for a little bit longer or reduce his sentence.
Lanny Davis said in a statement that his client recently obtained a hard drive with 14 million files from his computers over the past 10 years.
This ploy didn’t work — House Intel Chairman Adam Schiff shut Lanny Davis and Cohen down.
Michael Cohen was sentenced to 36 months in prison and is scheduled to report to prison on May 6th.
