Former Illegal Alien and Serial Killer Juan Corona Is Dead at 85 – Slaughtered 25 Men With a Knife and Buried Them in Shallow Graves
Serial killer Juan Corona passed away on Monday.
He was 85.
Juan Corona was responsible for killing and burying (at least) 25 California farm workers. Many of the men he killed were actually hired by Corona. There is some thought that Corona killed at least some of the men because they made homosexual advances towards him.
Juan Corona initially entered the US illegally in 1950. After mental health treatments he was deported at 22.
He came back years later with a green card. He hired men and reportedly had issues with gay men.
Corona applied for US welfare in 1971.
The below has been cribbed from Wikipedia:
Juan Corona originally entered this country illegally from Mexico when he was 16. After mental health problems and treatment, he was deported when he was 22. He re-entered the US on a green card several years later. He was convicted of killing 25 men (the investigating sheriff believed there may have been more victims) in 1973 and sentenced to 25 consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole. There is some thought that Corona killed at least some of the men because they made homosexual advances towards him. Corona had his original conviction overturned in the late 70s and was granted a new trial. He was re-convicted on all counts in the early 80s. Despite being sentenced to 25 consecutive life terms without parole, a CA judge ruled that his sentences must run concurrently and that obligated the state to consider him for parole after 7 years. Corona was denied parole a total of 8 times before he died. Corona died in a private hospital, not prison.
At one time, Corona was the largest convicted serial killer in US history
Corona died in a private hospital.
