Watching this short clip of Hillary’s answer leaves the viewer with the impression that Hillary is not running… BUT…that’s not what she was asked! You need to hear the question before you decide.

Hillary Clinton ruled out a 2020 presidential run for the first time on camera in an exclusive interview with News 12, pledging instead to take an active role by working with the candidates in the crowded Democratic field.
“I’m not running, but I’m going to keep on working and speaking and standing up for what I believe,” she told News 12‘s Tara Rosenblum.

The problem is, she never says that at all. Here’s the quote from the interview, with the reporter’s question attached. Listen VERY carefully and note the strange edit in between the question and the answer.
New York News 12’s Tara Rosenblum asks Hillary Clinton if she can 100% rule out a 2020 run for the White House.
After a very strange sound and visual edit, Hillary responds in classic Clintonese by replying “I’m not running” which is currently accurate but THAT IS NOT 100% ruling it out. That’s absolutely keeping the door open to run in the future.
And why does the camera cut away to Tara Rosenblum after she asks the question? Obviously there’s an audio edit. Why? What was Clinton’s FULL answer to the question?
Last, why does the New York News 12 headline for the video misrepresent what Clinton says?
There is simply no way to watch that clip in full context and come away thinking she ruled ANYTHING out.
