Jussie Smollett’s Legal Team Releases Ridiculous Statement – “Will Mount Aggressive Defense”
Cook County State’s Attorney’s office approved of charges against ‘Empire’ actor Jussie Smollett Wednesday evening after the brothers testified to a grand jury for 2.5 hours.
Jussie Smollett has been charged with felony disorderly conduct and filing a false police report. Bond court hearing is set for Thursday at 1:30 PM.
Detectives will make contact with his legal team to negotiate a reasonable surrender for his arrest, Anthony Guglielmi said.
So no pre-dawn FBI raid to arrest Jussie Smollett?
Jussie Smollett’s legal team released a statement Wednesday night after a Cook County grand jury indicted their client on a felony charge.
“Like any other citizen, Mr. Smollett enjoys the presumption of innocence, particularly when there has been an investigation like this one where information, both true and false, has been repeatedly leaked. Given these circumstances, we intend to conduct a thorough investigation and to mount an aggressive defense,” Smollett’s attorneys, Todd Pugh and Victor Henderson said.

It looks like due process is a thing again — as long as you aren’t a Trump supporter.
On January 29th, ‘Empire’ actor Jussie Smollett told Chicago Police that two white Trump supporters ambushed him on the streets of Chicago at 2 AM while he was walking back to his apartment following a midnight run to Subway to grab a sandwich.
Smollett alleged the two white males recognized him as the actor from ‘Empire,’ hurled racist and homophobic slurs at him, poured bleach on him and put a noose around his neck.
The hate hoax began to unravel after it was revealed two Nigerian brothers, who were also extras on Empire were paid $4,000 to stage the attack.
The Nigerian brothers involved in Jussie Smollett’s hate hoax told Chicago police that Smollett paid them $4,000 to stage the MAGA attack after the police threatened to charge them with battery.
The brothers have also claimed that Smollett was behind a threatening letter that was sent to him a week before the “attack.”
CBS obtained surveillance video of the Osundairo brothers buying “supplies” from a store before the fake MAGA assault on Jussie Smollett.
Sources told CBS News that Jussie Smollett told the brothers what to buy and countless phone calls were placed for this.
