CAIR Condemns FL Governor’s Opposition to Airbnb’s Anti-Israel Policies

Several days ago, we reported on how Florida Governor Ron DeSantis held a press conference highlighting the targeting of Jews as a result of Airbnb’s anti-Semitic policy to ban rentals on the West Bank. DeSantis’ administration will now refuse to reimburse state employees, contractors, or vendors for Airbnb stays on government business until the company lifts the ban, which has been linked to the BDS movement.

An internal memo obtained by The Gateway Pundit from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Chief of Staff shows that DeSantis is wasting no time in prohibiting Airbnb related travel expenses.

“At the direction of Governor Ron DeSantis, effective January 16, 2019, reimbursement by state agencies for expenses incurred through the services of Airbnb while on official state business is prohibited for all state employees, contract employees, and vendors working on behalf of the state.

Following the Governor’s directive, please take the following steps immediately:

  • Conduct a review of all contracts related to travel of state employees, contract employees and vendor employees.
  • Identify all contracts that allow for reimbursement of travel expenses.
  • Contract managers must communicate this change in policy to all appropriate parties.

The DMS Division of State Purchasing is conducting a comprehensive review of state term contracts procured through the division for state agency use.”

Not surprisingly, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Florida chapter, which has links to known terrorist sympathizers and rabid anti-Semites, has come out in support of the ban. According to Breitbart… CAIR labeled his actions as a free-speech crackdown. It seems that standing up to anti-Semitism is now considered a “free-speech crackdown” by radical Islamists.

“Governor DeSantis should abstain from pushing his free-speech crackdown and instead should focus on protecting all Americans and American corporations from being punished by state legislation seeking to implement unconstitutional state-sponsored boycotts,” said its spokesman, Wilfredo Ruiz.

Florida is home to one of the most radical CAIR chapters in the nation, even hosting a co-conspirator in the first WTC bombings and a radical Sheikh who is known for making “Death To All Jews” statements on a regular basis.
