Tara Fares, 22, was a well-known model in the Iraqi fashion industry. She had 2.7 million fans on Instagram. She lived in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region in northern Iraq.
This past weekend Tara was shot dead while she sat in her white Porsche in Baghdad. A man was filmed approaching her car and firing several shots at her head. She died immediately. Fares was a victim of online threats over her perceived lack of modesty.
Tara was often active in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad due to her working relationship.
Tara Fares is not active in politics or human rights. But it is such a person who was killed in broad daylight just because he was wearing “exposure”.
