Taylor Swift Continues Her New Political Activism, Encourages Early Voting

Taylor Swift, once infamous for staying out of politics, has suddenly become quite politically active and is now urging her fans to consider early voting.

Swift recently made waves when she endorsed the Democratic canidates in the Tennessee midterm elections.

On Wednesday, the singer posted a pair of photos including one of her feet with red, white, and blue toenail polish. She captioned the photos, “Something I wish I knew about when I was 18 and voting for the first time: ✨EARLY VOTING✨. It makes it so quick and easy to go and cast your vote before November 6. Early voting starts TODAY in Tennessee and goes to Nov 1 🇺🇸. You can check out your state’s early voting dates at the link in my bio.”

Unfortunately for Swift, her previous post slamming Republican Marsha Blackburn did not seem to have any effect.

Blackburn was up 14% in the polls following the singer’s endorsement of her opponent, former governor Phil Bredesen.

Blackburn responded in an interview with Fox Business by saying that she doesn’t believe her voters will be swayed by a celebrity’s opinions.

“Tennesseans are more interested in the fact that Marsha Blackburn is endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, by the Fraternal Order of Police, by the Police Benevolent Association and by the National Rifle Association, where I have an ‘A’ rating and their endorsement,” Blackburn said.
