Apparently the DOJ under Sessions’ watch will prosecute Mike Flynn and George Papadopoulos for lying to the FBI, but won’t prosecute senior FBI officials who lie to the FBI.
In June, Inspector General Michael Horowitz released his much anticipated review on FBI and DOJ actions during the Hillary Clinton email investigation.
According to the Inspector General, FBI employees were receiving “tickets to sporting events, golfing outings, drinks and meals, and admittance to nonpublic social events,” from reporters in exchange for unauthorized leaks.
This was all happening under leaker Comey’s Directorship.
When questioned under oath about the gifts received by a member of the media, a senior FBI official lied–and got away with it.
On Tuesday, the Office of the Inspector General released its findings of misconduct by a senior FBI official for accepting gifts from a member of the media and for lack of candor (lying).
The OIG investigation substantiated, and the senior FBI official acknowledged, that the official accepted two tickets to a professional sports event from the TV correspondent without paying the correspondent for the tickets. The senior FBI official initially maintained to the OIG in an interview under oath that the official had paid for the tickets, but five days later admitted to the OIG that the official did not. The OIG found that the senior FBI official lacked candor with the OIG in several respects about the tickets.
The senior FBI official violated federal laws when he accepted the gifts from a prohibited source (a member of the media) then he lied to federal officials UNDER OATH about it and faces zero prosecution.
“Criminal prosecution was declined. The senior FBI official retired from the FBI during the OIG’s investigation,” the OIG report concluded.
It is safe to assume this lying FBI official will also be receiving his fat pension.
The hypocrisy is astounding. Where is the justice??

Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows slammed the DOJ for its hypocrisy.
Total hypocrisy. DOJ prosecutes Mike Flynn and George Papadopoulos for lying to the FBI. But a senior FBI official accepted free gifts from a media member, lied to the FBI about it, and faces no prosecution.
With the DOJ: 'Lying to the FBI is a crime for thee–but not for me.' https://t.co/msrHOGsRoi

Former Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz asked, “Where is AG Sessions?”
IG found criminal wrong-doing by an FBI official and DOJ refused to prosecute. Should be a MUCH bigger story. Where is AG Sessions? When will there be justice? https://t.co/eITDlyUU5V
