Thousands of former Democrats marched at the #WalkAway rally in Washington D.C. Saturday, urging leftists to leave the Democrat Party and support Trump and Republicans ahead of the midterm elections.
Despite frigid weather and pouring rain, participants dressed in red, white, and blue and Make America Great again hats waving American flags as they marched from John Marshall Park near the Capitol to Freedom Plaza near the White House.
DC Police estimated more than 5K at the first ever #WalkAwayMarch!! Folks came out in the rain and cold to #WalkAway and #WalkWith. Our March spanned 7 city blocks.

#WalkAway transformed pussy hats, made infamous during the Women’s March, into Trump-supporting headgear.
The mile-long march along Pennsylvania Avenue symbolizes a “walk away from the Democratic Party and literally walking toward freedom,” founder of the Walk Away movement Brandon Straka told The Gateway Pundit.
Before walking away, Straka said he believed the media’s lies about Republicans and conservatives.
“I thought the GOP sucked before I walked away. I bought into a lot of media lies – ‘racists, bigots, monsters,'” he said. “I have been showered with love by conservatives and Republicans. It is such nonsense. It sure beats being on the left and crying every night about the president.”
The movement caught President Trump’s attention. He tweeted about the event before it began.

Yet, the mainstream media completely ignored the thousands of Americans who took to the streets to disavow the Democrat party. Neither CNN or MSNBC covered the weekend’s events.
CNN has accused the #WalkAway movement of being a disinformation campaign orchestrated by Republicans and a Russian ploy to divide key Democrat voting blocs.
“Republicans want to split up the Democratic political opposition and divide black and Latino voters. And Russia looks like it wants to help here, too,” CNN commentator David A. Love wrote. “The most recent example of this strategy is the #WalkAway hashtag, which is presented as a grassroots effort by former Democrats who are critical of the party’s alleged intimidation, confrontation and lack of civility and want people to walk away from the party.”
Straka, a former Democrat, spearheaded the #WalkAway movement five months ago when he posted a video on his Facebook page urging others who are fed up with the failed policies and mob rule mentality of today’s Democrat Party to leave it.
The rally on the national mall featured various speakers including Dinesh D’Souza, Stacey Dash, Joy Villa, Mason Weaver, Buzz Patterson, and others.
