Dem Sen. Dianne Feinstein, RINO Sen. Lisa Murkowski
Alaska Republican party leaders may take action against Senator Lisa Murkowski for opposing Brett Kavanaugh.
Murkowski announced over the weekend she would not be supporting Brett Kavanaugh after the Democrats launched a smear campaign against him which led to a grueling hearing and 7th FBI background check.
The Alaskan Senator was reportedly meeting with sexual assault victims in her office leading up to the full Senate vote on Kavanaugh; she allowed her emotions to dictate her vote rather than listen to the majority of her constituents.
Alaska is a state that Trump won by 15 points-Alaskans are outraged by Murkowski and she’s going to pay the piper.
CNBC reported:
Alaska Republican party leaders plan to consider whether to reprimand U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski for opposing Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation.
The party has asked Murkowski to provide any information she might want its state central committee to consider.
Party Chairman Tuckerman Babcock says the committee could decide to issue a statement. Or he says it could withdraw support of Murkowski, encourage party officials to look for a replacement and ask that she not seek re-election as a Republican.
He says the party took that more extreme step previously with state legislators who caucused with Democrats.
He says all this follows outrage from Alaska Republicans.
Lisa Murkowski “paired” her vote with Republican Senator Daines of Montana since he was attending his daughter’s wedding and was unable to vote.
Murkowski voted “no” for herself then voted “present” for Daines–this strategy essentially cancelled out her “no” vote.
Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed as the 114th Supreme Court Justice in U.S. history on Saturday with a 50-48 vote thanks to Democrat Joe Manchin of West Virginia for bringing the judge across the finish line with a “yea” vote.
