Senator Hatch Sends Letter to FBI Director Wray Demanding He Contact WH Counsel if Any Witness Seeks to Delay Kavanaugh Probe

Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) sent FBI Director Christopher Wray a letter Saturday to ensure the supplemental FBI probe into Kavanaugh meets Trump’s designated timeline.

President Trump ordered a supplemental FBI background investigation of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh Friday afternoon after Senator Flake threw the SCOTUS vote into chaos demanding an FBI probe prior to the full Senate floor vote.

“I’ve ordered the FBI to conduct a supplemental investigation to update Judge Kavanaugh’s file. As the Senate has requested, this update must be limited in scope and completed in less than one week,” Trump said in a statement Friday.

As expected, in a statement released Friday, Ford’s lawyer Debra Katz urged no limits to time or scope on FBI probe of Kavanaugh.

Republican Senator Orrin Hatch knows the left is up to their old tricks and will do everything possible to use the supplemental FBI probe into Kavanaugh to delay delay delay.

“I am writing to request, however, that you notify the White House Counsel’s Office immediately if any witness(es) or their representatives seek to delay or are uncooperative in this process,” Senator Hatch wrote in his letter to FBI Director Wray.

Senator Hatch said that one key reason for his concerns regarding a possible delay comes Christine Ford’s testimony stating she would have preferred to have been interviewed in California, out of the public eye, but her lawyers refused to convey this message to the Judiciary Committee in an effort to delay the confirmation process.

President of Judicial Watch Tom Fitton said, “The Left wants a Mueller 2.0 investigation to target and harass Judge Kavanaugh, his friends and his family.”
