Bruce Ohr to Appear Before Congress For Closed-Door Interview on August 28

Twice-demoted DOJ official Bruce Ohr will appear before Congress to answer why he had over 60 contacts with dossier author, Christopher Steele.

Top DOJ official Bruce Ohr was acting as a backchannel after the FBI ‘terminated’ Christopher Steele in November of 2016. The FBI was being funneled intel from Steele through Bruce Ohr.

On Friday evening, Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-NC) announced Bruce Ohr will appear before Congress later in August.

“He owes the American public the full truth,” Meadows said.

Meadows tweeted: DOJ official Bruce Ohr will come before Congress on August 28 to answer why he had 60+ contacts with dossier author, Chris Steele, as far back as January 2016.

He owes the American public the full truth.

According to Chuck Ross of the Daily Caller, Bruce Ohr will appear before members of the House Judiciary and House Oversight Committees for a closed-door interview.

Emails, text messages and handwritten notes penned by Bruce Ohr were released this week showing the top DOJ official had extensive contact with dossier author Christopher Steele and Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson.

The emails also show Christopher Steele lobbied on behalf of Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska to help with his US visa rehabilitation, according to messages obtained by Byron York of the Washington Examiner.

According to emails obtained by investigative reporter, John Solomon, Bruce Ohr, who worked directly under Rod Rosenstein, was discussing getting Christopher Steele back into the FBI in the summer of 2017–after he was deemed “not suitable” and ‘terminated’ for leaking to the media in November of 2016.

It gets worse…

Beginning in July of 2017, Christopher Steele was sending urgent text messages to Bruce Ohr desperate to assist Robert Mueller in the Russia witch hunt.

New handwritten notes penned by twice-demoted DOJ official Bruce Ohr reveal Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson handed Ohr a memory stick during a meeting at a D.C. coffee shop shortly after the election.

It is still unclear what was on the memory stick or if the FBI used the information on it for future actions.

Glenn Simpson wasn’t Bruce Ohr’s only connection to Fusion GPS, his wife Nellie Ohr also worked for the oppo research firm.

Congressman Meadows is correct–Bruce Ohr has a lot of questions to answer.
