A federal judge in Manhattan has dismissed the lawsuit Seth Rich‘s parents filed against Fox News over their now-retracted articles about their DNC staffer’s murder.
Joel and Mary Rich sued Fox News and several of their of their contributors last year after the network promoted the conspiracy theories questioning whether Rich was really killed due to a botched robbery in Washington. Rich’s family accused Fox News of inflicting deliberate emotional distress on them by running with the unsubstantiated far-right idea that Rich was actually killed in retaliation for leaking the DNC’s emails to Wikileaks.
According to The Daily Beast, District Judge George B. Daniels approved Fox’s motion to dismiss the suit on the grounds that Rich’s family failed to state a claim.
