Biden Complains Too Many Old White Males In Politics, Endorses Women Slate, Ignores Ocasio-Cortez

Everyone’s least favorite creepy uncle is back in the news. As he struggles to stay relevant, ex-Vice President Joe Biden sent out an email blast on Friday, complaining that there are too many old, white, males in politics and how we need to elect more women. Because vaginas. In typical hypocritical fashion, or complete obliviousness, Biden seems to have no problem with himself, an old, white, male involved in politics. He just doesn’t want other old, white, males being successful.

Using his PAC, American Possibilities, which this author didn’t even know existed until the email showed up, Biden opined:

Consider the word “Representative” for a moment. We often think about it as a political post — something that you run for, something that you win. It’s easy to forget the idea at its heart:

The simple notion of representation. The fundamental idea that our leadership ought to actually reflect the people who make up this country — their interests, their values, their daily realities.

Folks, women make up more than half the population — but they’re represented by a Congress that’s 80 percent men. And the numbers are even worse for women of color.

Well, that’s all about to change.

Women are running for office in numbers never before seen in the history of our country. So far, they make up more than 40 percent of House Democratic nominees.

After formally endorsing Jacky Rosen (current congresspersonofnonspecifiedgender in Nevada, running for Senate), Gina Ortiz Jones (Texas Congressional District 23), Abby Finkenauer (Iowa 1st CD), Elissa Slotkin (Michigan CD 8), Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (Florida CD 26), Kyrsten Sinema (current congressperson, running for Senate in Arizona), Michelle Lujan Grisham (current congressperson, running for governor in New Mexico), Stacey Abrams (running for governor of Georgia), Xochitl Torres Small (running for congress in New Mexico, CD2), and Cheri Bustos (Illinois congressperson), Uncle Joe ends the email with:

There’s an old saying that goes: “Women hold up half the sky.”

In order for a country in the 21st century to succeed, it cannot leave behind half of its brain power. Half its mission. Half its courage. Half its capability. Half its stride.

If we elect folks like these ten women, I’m confident we won’t.

And I have all the faith in the world that we’re going to see a major shift in the actual representation of Americans this fall. You and I are going to help make it happen.

Join me in supporting a group of incredible women who are focused on what it will take to carry this country forward. Learn more about these candidates — including how to support them directly.

Scrolling through the full list of endorsed candidates on the American Possibilities webpage, one can’t help but notice it’s mostly white people, and contains only one black person.

Strangely, Uncle Joe seems to distance himself from the democrats’ new darling, marxist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, as he leaves her off the list of endorsements and makes no mention of her anywhere.

I think we all know why he wants to see more women in office.
