President Trump left the White House for Brussels on Tuesday morning with his lovely wife and First Lady Melania Trump for a meeting with NATO allies.
The president said he’s expected to press European leaders to pay their share of the group’s defense spending.
European Council President Donald Tusk took the opportunity to attack President Trump.
Tusk rejected Trump for calling out European nations to pay NATO what they promised.
Dear @realDonaldTrump. US doesn’t have and won’t have a better ally than EU. We spend on defense much more than Russia and as much as China. I hope you have no doubt this is an investment in our security, which cannot be said with confidence about Russian & Chinese spending :-)
