Justice Kagan Furious After SCOTUS Deals Major Blow to Unions – Accuses Court’s Conservative Majority of “Weaponizing the First Amendment”

U.S. Supreme Court justice Elena Kagan.

The Supreme Court dealt a huge blow to labor unions Wednesday morning, ruling 5-4 that state government workers cannot be forced to pay “fair share” fees to support collective bargaining and other union interests.

Trump-appointed Neil Gorsuch was the deciding vote.

The Supreme Court is on a conservative streak which means we are winning.

The Supreme Court was deadlocked 4-4 on this case after Justice Scalia passed away; Neil Gorsuch delivered the final blow Wednesday with the deciding vote.

This is a major win for the 1st Amendment, however, Obama-appointed Justice Elena Kagan says the court’s conservative majority “weaponized the First Amendment.”

Kagan is a far left Justice appointed by Barack Obama in 2010; she had no prior experience being a judge.

Elena Kagan’s most notable foray into public life was kicking military recruiters off of Harvard’s campus. This must have impressed Barack Obama so much that he put her on the Supreme Court.

Reuters reported:

In a dissent, liberal Justice Elena Kagan wrote that the ruling gave scant regard to the court’s usual way of evaluating when to overturn a long-standing precedent.

Kagan, who read forcefully from her dissenting opinion in the packed courtroom, said the practice of separating union political activities from collective bargaining-related spending, set by the court in the precedent overturned on Wednesday, had been a workable solution.

“There is no sugarcoating today’s opinion. The majority overthrows a decision entrenched in this nation’s law – and in its economic life – for over 40 years. As a result, it prevents the American people, acting through their state and local officials, from making important choices about workplace governance,” Kagan said.

The court’s conservative majority, Kagan said, was “weaponizing the First Amendment” to intervene in economic and regulatory policy.

Obama’s other choice for Supreme Court Justice, Sonia Sotomayor went on a 20 minute furious rant Tuesday after the SCOTUS ruled 5-4 in favor to uphold Trump’s travel ban.

One of the most important things President Trump has done so far in his presidency is appoint Neil Gorsuch.

President Trump celebrated the latest SCOTUS ruling Wednesday morning.

Trump tweeted: Supreme Court rules in favor of non-union workers who are now, as an example, able to support a candidate of his or her choice without having those who control the Union deciding for them. Big loss for the coffers of the Democrats!
