UK Police Investigating Social Media Posts Criticizing Baby Alfie Situation

As the Alfie Evans situation continues to unfold, the Merseyside Police in Liverpool have issued a draconian statement, warning people to not criticize the judge’s decision or the police for preventing the transport of Alfie to another hospital.

The Merseyside Police released this statement via their facebook page:

We’ve issued the following statement following reports of social media posts being made in relation to Alder Hey Hospital and the ongoing situation with Alfie Evans:

Chief Inspector Chris Gibson said: “Merseyside Police has been made aware of a number of social media posts which have been made with reference to Alder Hey Hospital and the ongoing situation involving Alfie Evans.

“I would like to make people aware that these posts are being monitored and remind social media users that any offences including malicious communications and threatening behaviour will be investigated and where necessary will be acted upon.”

So not only are the officials complicit in refusing to allow healthcare for the child, they are threatening to arrest anyone who criticizes them. This is as groups of concerned citizens descend on the hospital in protest, and police block the doors.

The comments in response to the “police” agency’s statement are hilarious! Perhaps the best one being “ Why do I need an AR15? Because one day the government may tell me I can’t put my son on a plane and fly him to Italy for medical treatment…Believe me, my son would be getting on that plane!! #AlfieEvans
