On Thursday, at 10:00 a.m. the House Judiciary Committee held a hearing to discuss social media filtering and policing practices.
The panel was organized to look at how Facebook and Google censor conservative voices.
Goodlatte has invited the social media giants Facebook, Google and Twitter to attend section II of the panel discussion.
The panel III discussion includes:

** Ms. Corynne McSherry, Legal Director, Electronic Frontier Foundation
** Mr. David Chavern, Chief Executive Officer, News Media Alliance
During the panel discussion Rep. Steve King (R-IA) took time out to acknowledge The Gateway Pundit and other conservative websites who have been completely shut down by Facebook.
Rep. Steve King (R-IA): Before I begin I have some documents that I’d like to ask consent to enter into the record. The first one is from Mr. Jim Hoft, The Gateway Pundit, St. Louis. He’s the one who initiated the beginnings of this hearing today. He has taken a pretty hard hit himself in multiple different ways. And I’ve watches as his views have been hit, dropped down from 33%, Facebook pages was 33% of overall views down to 3%, one-eleventh of what it was. That would be evidence of censorship in my opinion. A number of other comments I’d like to introduce them in the record along with a Christian publisher says Google banned it over the faith they expressed which shows you quoting the Bible can get you censored in this country. And there are multiple charts here delivered by Gateway Pundit. Here’s Gateway Pundit’s traffic. Here’s the president’s traffic which the young ladies expressed in their testimony. The Young Conservative’s traffic which went from around around 5 and three-quarter million to around essentially nothing. Multiple other sites, conservative sites, all of them, the graphics and the charts, it’s the best material out here that quantifies this impact that I think were produced by Mr. Jim Hoft and I hope that one day he can come and testify before this Congress as well because my private conversation with him has been very powerful and I ask consent to enter these documents into the record.
Steve King is paying attention. The Iowa representative is a class act.
