Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) joined Maria Bartiromo this morning on Sunday Morning Futures.
During the discussion Nunes, who is chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, told Maria the DOJ had was NO EVIDENCE of wrongdoing when they started to spy on the Donald Trump campaign.
It was all for political reasons — which is immoral, unethical and illegal.
Rep. Nunes told Maria Bartiromo the Obama DOJ NEVER had any intelligence that Trump was working with the Russians.
They started spying on him and his campaign and family anyway.
It was all politics.Chairman Nunes went on: We now know that there never was any official intelligence to start this investigation. We know that Sidney Blumenthal and others were pushing information into the State Department. So we’re trying to piece all of that together.
Maria Bartiromo: We are waiting the IG report as it relates to Jim Comey as it relates to the handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation. We got these Comey memos this week. Tell me what you got from these memos.
Rep. Nunes: …Once you read the Comey memos it becomes exhibit A in a defense that there was no obstruction of justice… I think for Mr. Comey when you match up the memos, with what’s in his book, with the interviews he’s giving, I think he’s got a lot of problems coming in the future with what the IG is looking at with his behavior in the Hillary Clinton email investigation… As it relates to Mr. Comey you got the added problem now that the memos that he wrote, the seven memos he wrote on Donald Trump… If those memos contain classified information, he purposely leaked them in order to get a special counsel started. After he retired he leaked pieces of these. So we need to know exactly what he leaked. Who did he give these memos to? Was it just the friend who leaked them to The New York Times or were there others? I believe there were others. I think these Comey memos were actually given to several people, that contained classified information.
If true this would put Comey in prison.
