FITTON FURIOUS: FBI Wants to Take 16 Months to Process Only Half of Comey Docs Requested Under FOIA

President of Judicial Watch Tom Fitton was outraged on Thursday after the FBI told the watchdog group it will take 16 months to process only half of the Comey docs they requested under FOIA.

In February, the FBI said they will review over 16,000 Comey docs in response to a Judicial Watch FOIA lawsuit seeking records for the former FBI chief that was archived after he was fired.

Judicial Watch sued for the Comey memos which Fitton says is a scandal in itself.

The memos were already leaked to the New York Times by Comey himself so the fact that Judicial Watch has to sue for the documents is outrageous.

Rosenstein is also withholding the Comey memos after the oversight committee has requested the unredacted documents.

Trump should ask FBI Director Christopher Wray why his agency is making a mockery of the FOIA law, Fitton said.

“OUTRAGEOUS: FBI wants to take 16 months to process 8,000 pages of Comey docs under FOIA. Which is just half of the full Comey file! @RealDonaldTrump should ask Director Wray why his agency is making a mockery of the FOIA law.” Fitton tweeted.

Last week, the FBI notified Judicial Watch that the bureau will need at least three years to hand over “releasable,” communications between anti-Trump FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.

Fitton was outraged over this setback.

The Judicial Watch boss has previously called on President Donald Trump to direct U.S. Marshals to seize computer evidence at the FBI in relation to the missing Strzok-Page text messages.

The FBI thinks they are above the law. They became weaponized under Obama and the stonewalling of documents has continued under new leadership.
