The Gateway Pundit came under heavy fire last week after White House Bureau Lucian Wintrich published a viral story about Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg.
Wintrich accurately reported it appeared David Hogg was being coached by CNN to spew anti-gun, anti-Trump rhetoric following the shooting. The Gateway Pundit was the first publication to point out the media was heavily scripting the narrative in order to push gun control and we were right.
An anonymous Twitter user under the handle @LeGozer was angry with Lucian Wintrich and decided to express this anger in a very graphic and threatening tweet last week.
@LeGozer tweeted, “Lucian Wintrich, if I were the father of one of those kids, I would come to your home, late at night, and kill you in your own bed. I’m willing to take a twitter ban for saying so, too. F*ck you. #reportme”
Gateway Pundit Editor-in-Chief Jim Hoft and Associate Editor Cristina Laila both tweeted out the screenshot of the threatening post and asked why Twitter was refusing to take down the threat and ban the user for violating their terms of service.
On February 20th, TGP’s Cristina Laila responded to @LeGozer, “This is how the left responds to someone they don’t agree with.”
People were in shock and mass reported him for the threatening post.

Again on February 22nd, TGP’s Cristina Laila brought attention to the threat, this time posting a screenshot of the tweet and pointed out Twitter still hadn’t taken action against the user.

On February 23rd, Jim Hoft also tweeted out a screenshot of the threatening post and asked, “When will the Twitter police take down this man’s acct for threatening my reporter Lucian Wintrich?”

Twitter FINALLY suspended the user after nearly a week and countless people reporting the tweet.
If a conservative tweeted something like this, Twitter would have immediately banned the account, but liberals can say whatever they want without fear of reprisal.
This is the current climate on social media. Conservatives are threatened and or banned on a regular basis while liberals are promoted and say whatever they want without any fear.
