Dem Senator Mark Warner Responds to Backlash Over His Attempt to Secretly Meet With Steele – Thanks Little Marco!

As previously reported, Democrat Senator Mark Warner tried to organize a secret private meeting with Christopher Steele, the author of the anti-Trump dossier.

Warner is the leading Democrat and Vice Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Warner used the lobbyist of a Russian oligarch to organize the secret meeting.

Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) immediately came to Senator Warner’s defense.

Sneaky Warner responded to the onslaught Friday morning. He thanked Rubio for defending him then claimed he’s on the receiving end of cable news attacks trying to make a scandal out of his sham investigation.

FOX News reported:

Sen. Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee who has been leading a congressional investigation into President Trump’s alleged ties to Russia, had extensive contact last year with a lobbyist for a Russian oligarch who was offering Warner access to former British spy and dossier author Christopher Steele, according to text messages obtained exclusively by Fox News.

Marco Rubio promptly came to his rescue and tweeted, “Sen.Warner fully disclosed this to the committee four months ago.Has had zero impact on our work.”

Sneaky Mark Warner responded Friday morning after getting savaged by Fox News, President Trump and other angry Americans on social media.

Warner tweeted, “Grateful to , and other Republican colleagues who are focused on getting to the truth, not cable news attacks trying to make a scandal out of our bipartisan investigation.”

Warner then claimed the Senate Intel Committee will continue its bipartisan investigation. Bipartisan? This is an obvious witch hunt to remove a duly elected president!

Warner tweeted, “The Senate Intelligence Committee will continue its bipartisan investigation, and we are going to follow the facts – wherever they lead – until we get to the truth.”

Trump supporters responded.
