President Trump is in rare form Tuesday morning, thanking White House correspondent Jim Acosta and the rest of CNN for its ‘honest’ #SchumerShutdown coverage. 

“Even Crazy Jim Acosta of Fake News CNN agrees: “Trump World and WH sources dancing in end zone: Trump wins again…Schumer and Dems caved…gambled and lost.” Thank you for your honesty Jim!” tweeted President Trump.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) announced Monday afternoon that the Senate reached a short-term agreement to end the government shutdown. According to the New York Democrat, negotiations on DACA will be taken up before the next scheduled shutdown on February 8th.

Progressives are furious with the move, as lawmakers, media figures and activists alike are scratching their heads over the Democrats’ surrender.

Liberal activists are furious with Democratic senators after most of them agreed to reopen the federal government without a firm path to shielding young immigrants from deportation.

As the third day of the shutdown dawned, liberal advocates and immigration groups fired off a joint statement blasting as “unacceptable” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s offer merely to hold a vote on immigration — with no promises for action from the House or White House — in exchange for Democratic votes to reopen the government. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Monday argued Democrats secured critical assurance for Dreamers, who are at risk for deportation as soon as March after President Donald Trump’s decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
